Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Mill Valley-Sausalito Path, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now an excellent spot to walk Petzooie.

Hike the Rosewood Trail with your dog to the beautiful Angel Vista viewpoint. The most direct path to this beautiful location in the Santa Monica Mountains is a 3.5-mile round trip climb with an elevation gain/loss of roughly 800 feet. Visit the website for trail instructions and more information.

Depending on your trekking aptitude, you and Petzooie can hike 1.7 to 4-miles round trip to Bee Rock, a hive-shaped point on the east edge of Griffith Park. Pavilions are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Double door entry, human and canine drinking faucets, separate spaces for large and small dogs, limited bench seating, ample shade, treebark and wood floor, uncommon supply of trash bags, and plenty of free parking are among the amenities.
