McCall Equestrian Campground is a dog-friendly, equestrian camping-only campground near Mountain Center, California, with an 88-acre mountain park dedicated solely to equestrian camping and trail riding. Several great routes lead through lofty pine forests, broad meadows, and past seasonal streams. Adults, children, pets, and horses must pay a day-use entrance fee.

7738. Chantry Flats Hiking Trails

Pets on leashes are allowed on the trails of Chantry Flats, as well as at the Chantry Flats Picnic Area, which features 35 concrete picnic tables, charcoal grills, and restrooms. Before hitting the trails, make a pit stop at Adams' Pack Station, the last of its kind in the United States, which provides supplies year-round to an 80-cabin permanent community accessible only by footpath. The Pack Station also offers a General Store where you may get your Forest Service Adventure Passes, water, and trail mix before your trek, or come back later for soft drinks, ice cream, or an ice cold beer.
