Chantry Flats Hiking Trails

Arcadia's Dog Park at Eisenhower Park is a beautiful, clean, off-leash dog park with plenty of shade, a separate tiny dog section, and plenty of four-legged companions to play with.

Big Horn Mine Walk is a 3.9-mile out-and-back trail with a river that is suitable for hikers of all abilities. The trail is best used from March to October and is mostly used for hiking, running, nature visits, and bird viewing. This trail is also open to dogs, although they must be kept on a leash. This is an unmarked footpath that may be discovered near the closed road below the Mount Baden-Powell/PCT path. All the way to the mine, the trail follows an old mining road.

The Mt. Wilson Trail welcomes leashed pets. Sierra Madre to 2N45 is a 6-mile trail that begins and concludes in Sierra Madre (Mt Wilson Toll Road).

Sierra Madre Dog Park, located in Sierra Vista Park, is a tiny, enclosed dog park that is well-kept and friendly, making it a nice spot to take your dog for some off-leash fun.

The Duarte Recreational Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a statewide network of trails from abandoned rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Duarte! The trailhead for the Duarte Recreational Trail is shown on the map below.

For your pet's enjoyment, Alice's Dog Park at Vina Vieja Park offers 2.5 acres of herbicide-free grassland. It is open from sunrise to sunset. The only conditions are that the dogs be current on their vaccinations and have a current license. It is also the responsibility of the owner to clean up after their dog. Water stations for humans and dogs, pop bag dispensers, shade trees, seats, tiny mounds, separate spaces for large and little dogs, and a 52-spot parking lot are among the amenities.
