Seal Point Harbor Dog Park in San Mateo, CA, is a 3-acre, fenced, off-leash dog park located within Seal Point Park that has a separate little dog section and crushed gravel ground surface to reduce muck. Seal Point Park features walking, cycling, and bird-watching paths. You can also stroll your leashed dog along the boardwalk along the Bay Marshes.

Charmlee Wilderness Park is located on over 532 acres in the greatest of the Santa Monica Mountains Coastal Slope Environment, with over eight miles of hiking paths and picnic areas for you and your dog to explore. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Leashed dogs are accepted on the trails and in the picnic areas at Castaic Lake State Recreation Area. The beaches and bathing areas, however, are not dog-friendly. The Lower Lake is used for non-powered boating and canoeing, while the Upper Lake is used for sailing, powerboating, water and jet skiing, and fishing. From sunrise to sunset, the Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is open.

A 0.5-acre small dog area and a 1-acre large dog area with separate double-gated entries are available at the Crescenta Valley Dog Park. Each area is totally gated, with huge amounts of decomposed granite surfacing and cedar chip surfacing beneath and around the older trees. A dog wash is located outside the entrance gates, as well as drinking fountains for both humans and pets, benches in both areas, some with shade structures, and security lighting.

Lighthouse Field State Beach, where you and Petzooie will discover a dog-friendly scenic beach, is dog-friendly. Its Beach, also known as Lighthouse Field State Beach, is located north of the Lighthouse on West Cliff Drive. You are welcome to bring your dog along to enjoy the sand and surf, but they must be kept on a leash for the duration of their visit. Every day of the week, from 7 a.m. to sunset, the beach is open.
