Dog Park Locations

Fishing and hiking are available at Mississippi River State Park for you and your dog to enjoy. There are campsites ranging from Class AAA through Class D to rustic in the park. Within the Saint Francis National Forest, there are seven bodies of water that provide sufficient chances for fishing, kayaking, and boating. Hikers will enjoy exploring the forest's many routes and looking for animals. Simply keep Petzooie leashed at all times.

Outside on the trails of Queen Wilhelmina State Park, which is located around Arkansas' second highest mountain, dogs are welcome. To get to this park and its magnificent location, take the Talimena National Scenic Byway. This location is as historic as it is beautiful. On-site lodging and camping are provided.

A trip to Jacksonport State Park will take you to the site of a once-thriving historic river port. You can take your dog to a campground, picnic site, or a riverbank route, to name a few options. Just remember to keep Petzooie on a leash at all times.

At Millwood State Park, stroll along the peaceful boat lanes of Millwood Lake or take a trip along the nature route with your dog. Dogs are permitted in the park, but must be kept on a leash at all times when on land. This is the spot to go if you want to catch some real bass. Millwood Lake is an excellent fishing site because to a number of boat routes that meander through submerged woods, marshes, and oxbow cutoffs. Largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie abound in this 29,260-acre lake. This Audubon-designated Important Bird Area is also popular for birding, with sightings of over 300 of the state's 400 species on record.

Logoly State Park is a 368-acre state park with a variety of trails to enjoy with your dog. It is the first environmental education state park in Arkansas, and its natural resources serve as a living laboratory for students and visitors. The majority of Logoly's 370 acres are dedicated to a State Natural Area with rare plant species and mineral springs. Texarkana, El Dorado, Camden, Magnolia, and Hope are all within a day's drive of this tranquil park surrounded by old growth forest. Six group tent sites (no hookups), a bathhouse with hot showers, pavilion, picnic tables, playground, and several pathways are among the park's amenities. Just remember to keep Petzooie on a leash while in the park.

The Ozark Highlands Trail (OHT) is one of the country's best long-distance hiking trails. It is well-known for its winter trekking chances when many other paths are impassable. It is located in the midst of the South. The best time to visit this trail is from the fall until the spring. The OHT, which has been featured in National Geographic Magazine, The Guardian, and Backpacker Magazine, offers 270 miles of hiking and trekking across some of the region's most difficult and spectacular terrain. The trail is marked with 2′′x6′′ white markers that are nailed to a tree near eye level and oriented vertically. A 12′′ piece of carsonite post oriented horizontally and attached to a tree near eye level and facing the trail serves as a mile marker. The map locations can be found on the webpage.

Earl Bell Dog Park welcomes pets. This off-leash dog park is divided into two sections, one for dogs under 30 pounds and the other for dogs 30 pounds and up. A watering station and bags to clean up after your dog are also available at the park. Earl Bell Dog Park is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week.

A pavilion, a playground, four softball fields, a lighted walking track, and Mountain Home Dog Park are among the amenities of Keller Park. A large and small dog enclosure, as well as water stations and seats, are available at the dog park.

Dogs are welcome at Label Boutique! Shop with your dog at this chic boutique that sells women's apparel, and the shopkeepers will give Petzooie biscuits and other treats. Label Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

At Lake Poinsett State Park, take a leisurely walk with your dog along the 1.1-mile Great Blue Heron Trail or go fishing in the lake. Most outdoor places allow pets as long as they are restrained physically or on a leash no longer than six feet. Owners of noisy or dangerous pets, as well as pets that harm or harass wildlife, will be asked to remove them. Pets are not permitted in or around hotel establishments. There are many picnic tables for family lunches, a heated and cooled pavilion, a children's playground, and an open field for ball games in the day-use area.
