The Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden (MEMBG) is a free-to-the-public 7-acre public garden on the UCLA campus. Dogs must be on a leash. This garden, which is located on the picturesque campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), houses one of the country's most important living botanical collections, with plant specimens from all over the world.

Dogs are welcome at Leo Carrillo State Park! The park's day use sections, campsite, and the beach north of lifeguard tower 3 are all dog-friendly. Backcountry routes and the beach south of lifeguard tower 3 are off-limits to dogs. The daily parking rate is $12. From 10 p.m. until 8 a.m., the gate is locked. After 10 p.m., there will be no admission.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an underused railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Half Moon Bay!

On the oceanfront beaches of Newport Beach, CA, leashed dogs are allowed before 10:00 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m.; on bay-front beaches, leashed dogs are allowed before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. The person in charge of the dog must have an instrument or device capable of eliminating any feces deposited by the animal in his or her possession.

On the 17-Mile Drive from Pacific Grove to Pebble Beach, bring your canine partner along for the adventure. The 17-Mile Drive is a prominent coastal landmark that allows visitors to visit legendary, pet-friendly locations while taking in the stunning surroundings. The Lone Cypress, Cypress Point Lookout, Spanish Bay, and Carmel Bay are just a few of the well-known attractions along this toll route. From sunrise to sunset, the gates are open to the public. Motorcycles are not allowed. You will receive an useful brochure explaining the many scenic and historic sites of interest along the route when you pay your entry fee at any of the five entry gates into Pebble Beach, which also serves as a great souvenir.
