Dog Park Locations

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Sacramento River Parkway Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Sacramento! A parking lot with easy access to the Sacramento River Parkway Trail is shown on the map below.

Small pets are invited to accompany you on a picturesque horse-drawn carriage journey around historic Sacramento.

Santana Row is a fun place for humans and their pets, with several pet-friendly patios for dining, as well as spas, salons, and fantastic shopping!

This well-kept, grassy off-leash dog park is fully enclosed and equipped with running water and water bowls, as well as lighting for nighttime use and a pleasant community of regulars. A little dog area, a large dog area, and a third "wood chip" area are all open to all dogs at Pooch Park. All dogs and their owners are welcome as long as they obey the rules and pick up after their pets. Every Wednesday, the Fullerton Pooch Park is closed to the public for routine maintenance.

Griffith Park Dog Park is a no-frills, fully walled off-leash dog park recognized for its friendly canines and owners. Every Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the park closes for routine maintenance.

Mission Trails Regional Park in La Mesa, California, is a dog-friendly park with a fantastic area for a leashed stroll around the lake. The squirrels and ducks will captivate them. With approximately 8,000 acres of both natural and constructed recreational spaces, the park has grown to become one of the largest urban parks in the United States.

There is a large dog area and a little dog area in this park. On-leash dogs are permitted in all parking lots, picnic sites, and trails north of Calaveras Road.
