Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Sacramento River Parkway Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Sacramento! The California State Railroad Museum does not allow dogs inside, but Petzooie can accompany you on the paved track and assist you in exploring the vintage locomotives outside. They are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week.
