Dog Park Locations

Enjoy a stroll with your dog past historic buildings, stores, the railway station, and the Sacramento River. There are a few quick food establishments with outside tables as well.

San Ramon residents enjoy to bring their dogs to this completely enclosed off-leash dog park.

The Fountain Park, which is next to this big Playa Vista complex, allows pets to run and play off-leash.

Bring your dog to this Elk Grove public park, which also has a tiny skate park, playground, jogging trails, and basketball courts, to play off-leash in the fenced dog run.

The more than five miles of trails at Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve, which is next to UCSF's Parnassus campus, are open to leashed dogs. The reserve is home to a 100-year-old forest as well as a diverse range of birds and other species. The area has no public parking, so visitors must park on Clarendon Avenue near Johnstone Drive and walk along Johnstone Drive past the Aldea Center to reach the trailhead. Keep

Hollyridge Trail is one of many routes in Griffith Park that lead to the famous Hollywood sign. Hike this 3.5-mile trek to the peak of Mount Lee with your favorite animal buddy for stunning views of the sign and the city below.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Tiburon Linear Park, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. Previously a disused railroad line, this "rail-trail" near Belvedere Tiburon is now an excellent spot to walk Petzooie!
