The Tijuana Estuary in Imperial Beach, California, has numerous miles of dog-friendly hiking trails. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Binoculars are available for loan at the visitor center. The trails are open every day from dawn to night.

This small, enclosed dog park has a lovely environment, with grass, shade trees, and benches for owners to relax on. This fenced-in park, which is located close to the historic McElroy Octagon House at Union and Gough, is visited by dog owners and parents with children. Paths, trees, shrubs, flowers, seats, and grassy spaces are all well designed.

7695. Chandler Bikeway

The Chandler Bikeway is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a charity dedicated to building a statewide network of trails from abandoned rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Burbank! The trailhead for the Chandler Bikeway is shown on the map below.

The design for the dog park was produced by LGA, a Pismo Beach-based architecture firm led by Leonard Grant. The park is about 1 acre in size and has distinct "large dog" and "little dog" play areas that are cross-fenced. Donations and loans from dog owners and local companies will fund the park's construction and maintenance.

7697. Telegraph Peak

Telegraph Peak via Manker Flat and Baldy Notch trails is a very difficult (11.4 mile) but dog-friendly walk in Angeles National Forest that will take Petzooie about 8 hours to finish. This route loop includes forests, streams, waterfalls, and mountains, as well as all you could want in terms of breathtaking views. The trail is steep and rocky, and it is at a high altitude, thus it should only be attempted by pets and owners who are accustomed to such terrain. Dogs must be kept on a leash.

Dogs are welcome at Vista Meadows Dog Park. This is one of five fenced off-leash dog parks in the Livermore region, and dogs have access to drinking water. You and Petzooie can take the paved route from the play area up the hill to an approximately 39,000-square-foot fenced grassy hillside dog park just over the crest. Your dog is free to go about on the grass off-leash.
