The 6.9-mile Pine Knot Trail to Grand View Point trek in San Bernardino National Forest is dog-friendly and reasonably easy, taking around 3 hours to complete with Petzooie. Take Mill Creek Road, which becomes Forest Service Road 2N10/Skyline Drive, to a point just below the top where the route crosses the road for a shorter climb.

The 1,940-acre Baylands Preserve, which is bordered by Mountain View and East Palo Alto, is one of the largest expanses of untouched marshland in the San Francisco Bay. A unique blend of tidal and fresh water environments can be found throughout fifteen miles of multi-use paths.

The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area's Zuma Canyon Trailhead is a beautiful hike. Leashed (no more than six feet) pets are welcome to accompany their owners on this walk, which is a beautiful area to see the seasons change. A diverse tree canopy creates a vibrant fall and winter season. The creek that runs through the canyon is active all year, yet it can be a trickle at times.

The dog-friendly Woodland Trail in Big Bear, CA, is a 1.5-mile circle that gives a self-guided tour of this dry-woodland environment and is perfect for a family trek. The route begins about.2 miles west of Stanfield Cutoff on HWY 38. It is well designated and has lots of parking. Dogs must be on a leash. To access the amenities at the trailhead parking area, you'll need an Adventure Pass or an Interagency Pass.

Bring Petzooie to Orange County Great Park to take advantage of all the park has to offer, including the famed Great Park Balloon. The Great Park Balloon, which flies 400 feet above the ground, is one of the world's largest tethered helium balloons. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the Great Park, including the special events. The Great Park Balloon allows you to bring your dog along for the ride. All you have to do is keep your dog on a leash at all times. Picking up after your pet is easy with the bags provided.

The dog-friendly Pismo State Beach in Oceano, CA, allows Petzooie on a leash. Dogs are permitted on the beach and park trails, but must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times. The Pismo Dune Preserve and Oso Flaco Lake are both dog-free zones.

The Rios (East) Trail in the San Elijo Ecological Reserve in Solana Beach, CA, is a dog-friendly, easy 1.2-mile hike that will take around 2 hours to accomplish with Petzooie. This route travels alongside the lagoon and allows visitors to see wetlands flora and wildlife. This lovely spot is still close to the highway, and it can be muddy in places. At all times, dogs must be leashed. The trailhead is located at the end of Rios Ave, where there is also on-street parking. Locate a kiosk that provides information on the lagoon.
