Zuma Canyon Trailhead

Zuma Canyon Loop Trail is a pleasant hike in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Leashed (no longer than six feet) pets are welcome to join their humans as they hike along this trail, which is a wonderful spot to take in the changing seasons. A variety of trees make for a colorful fall and winter season. The creek that runs through the canyon flows all year, but at times can be only a trickle.

Visit the magnificent 200-foot Escondido Falls on this 4-mile out-and-back trek with your dog. The terrain is steep, and there are a few creek crossings where the water can be high at times, so be sure your dog is up to the challenge before starting. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Solstice Canyon includes hikes through coastal sage scrub and riparian plant ecosystems that are easy, moderate, or challenging. Picnics, a shady stroll down the Solstice Canyon Trail, or a more difficult hike up the Rising Sun Trail are all options for visitors. Pets must be on a leash at all times. Dogs are allowed, but they must always be kept on a six-foot leash. Please ensure that your dog is cleaned up after. Take your dog for a walk on this easy track that offers stunning views of the ocean and allows tourists to have a picnic, a shady stroll down the Solstice Canyon track, or a more difficult climb up the Rising Sun Trail.

On the 3.8-mile climb below Castro Peak, you and your dog may explore the magnificent saddles and green canyon.

Charmlee Wilderness Park is located on over 532 acres in the greatest of the Santa Monica Mountains Coastal Slope Environment, with over eight miles of hiking paths and picnic areas for you and your dog to explore. At all times, dogs must be leashed.
