Animal Shelters

The Animal Protection League is seeking veterinarians to add to our group of committed experts. All animals brought into the Stockton Animal Shelter who are homeless or abandoned will receive the finest care available, as is our commitment.

Within the City of Hollister and the County of San Benito, animal control services are provided by the Animal Care & Service Bureau. The Animal Care & Service Bureau of the City of Hollister Police Department is in charge of impounding stray or lost animals, conducting cruelty investigations, controlling rabies, selling dog licenses, filing lost pet reports, providing 24-hour emergency services, enforcing local and state laws, running the animal shelter, running educational initiatives, and managing the animal adoption program.

The Hayward Animal Shelter accepts stray dogs and schedules appointments for animals that have been owner-rendered in the Hayward City. We frequently have dogs, cats, and rabbits up for adoption, as well as other small animals on occasion. Please stop by the shelter in person to fill out a lost pet report if you are looking for an animal.

Since 1874, the East Bay SPCA has provided aid to missing, injured, and abandoned animals! We provide services in Dublin and Oakland for the counties of Alameda and Contra Costa.

Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo are the seven neighboring cities whose stray, injured, abandoned, and unwanted animals are cared for by the Solano County Animal Care Division. We are committed to serving our locals and ensuring the welfare of all animals living in Solano County.

By adhering to the standards established by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) became the first model shelter in the entire world.

In San Pablo, California, a nonprofit organization called Jelly's Place rescues, treats, and places dogs and cats that have been abandoned, impounded, ill, or injured.

Since 1905, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for Monterey County has been providing services to the county's residents and animals. It is a nonprofit organization sponsored by donations.

Public access to North Bay Animal Services is now available. Every day, members of our staff provide the in-house animals with outstanding care. Our foster care program is currently active. Through in-person and online meetups, pets are adopted.
