All of the animals that have been abused or neglected are the focus of New Horizons Animal Shelter and Rescue.
4. Rescues Unlimited
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called Rescues Unlimited helps abused animals find loving homes and so rescues them. Although cats and raccoons have also been placed, dogs are our primary focus. The welfare and happiness of our animals is our first priority. We place a high value on each animal's continued care following adoption. This entails providing for the animal's emotional requirements of company and love in addition to its physical needs of food and shelter.

In order to address the problems of animal welfare and encourage ethical pet ownership, the Beadle County Humane Society was founded.
6. Oglala Pet Project
On the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, there is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization called Oglala Pet Project (OPP), which is run entirely by volunteers. The Oglala people have a great deal of compassion for all animals despite their everyday hardships. Through education, spay/neuter support, pet health services, and the rehoming or networking of abandoned, abused, or unwanted pets on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, OPP was established to assist community people in caring for their animals and improving the quality of life for dogs.
