Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) is a nationally renowned, award-winning leader with the dual mission of "People Rescuing Animals... Animals Rescuing People®." With 47,000 adoptions to date, we also strengthen the bond between humans and animals by providing life-changing programs for kids, seniors, veterans, and members of the underprivileged community.

In Contra Costa County, CC4C is an all-volunteer, non-profit cat rescue group that gives street cats that have been abandoned medical rehabilitation, spay and neuter services, foster care, and adoption. Through a successful trap-neuter-return program, we also seek to minimize the number of feral cats. Whenever feasible, kittens and cats are fostered, socialized, and adopted out to loving homes through our weekly adoption events. We receive all of our funding through grants, fund-raising, and public donations.

501c3 Bay Area Animal Rescue Crew (BAARC) was founded by friends who came together because they shared a love and passion for rescuing animals.

The county's Animal Services division is in charge of upholding leash regulations, rounding up stray or runaway animals, and managing a shelter in Martinez.

Our mission is to provide for the rescue, sterilization, fostering, and adoption of stray animals. By doing this, we can contribute to a reduction in the annual number of dogs euthanized due to overpopulation. Adopting a dog is not only rewarding, but it also enables organizations like ours to continue saving animals.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit company called Vizsladogs, Ltd. is home to the Vizsla Rescue Haven, which provides long-term foster care for Vizslas who are no longer adoptable. We provide care for exceptional redheads who have ended up in rescue organizations, shelters, or whose family can no longer care for them from our site in Oakley, California, but who have little chance of being adopted.
