The SPCA for Monterey County

Since 1905, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for Monterey County has been providing services to the county's residents and animals. It is a nonprofit organization supported by donations.

Protecting, promoting, and improving the health, safety, and quality of life for companion animals, other abandoned animals, and Monterey County residents are the goals of Monterey County Animal Services.

To uphold the Police Department's goal by collaborating with members of our community to provide companion animals with expert, outstanding, and compassionate services that will improve their quality of life.

The Pacific Grove, California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Animal Friends Rescue Project (AFRP) is committed to providing loving, permanent homes for neglected, abandoned, and strays as well as to putting an end to the pet overpopulation epidemic by implementing targeted spay/neuter programs.

All the dogs that enter our care are given to us for life. They will either spend the rest of their lives in one of our foster homes or be adopted into a wonderful, permanent home. (

A nonprofit group called FOWAS (Friends Of Watsonville Animal Shelter) is devoted to assisting the animals in Santa Cruz County.
