Our dual goals at the East Providence Animal Control Center are to uphold local, state, and federal regulations that pertain to both public safety and animal welfare as well as to offer temporary shelter and permanent homes for the stray and abandoned domestic animals within this City.
8. Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue

Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue was founded in 2017 to provide stray cats with a secure place to remain until they could be adopted into loving homes rather than being released back to the hardships of outdoor life after being accepted into Trap- Neuter- Release (TNR) programs and found to be tame or tamable.

The North Kingstown-Exeter Animal Protection League (NKEAPL), which was established and incorporated in 1968, runs the no-kill Pet Refuge. We added "Exeter" to our name in 1976. We are a private, nonprofit organization that relies on ongoing fundraising activities (such bazaars and tag sales) and the contributions of friends, members, business owners, and community leaders in the form of time, money, and resources.
