Pet Refuge

The division's objective is to ensure that all pet owners adhere to local and state rules. The Animal Control Division is staffed by a warden and an assistant.

Help guarantee that each dog or cat brought into the North Kingstown Animal Shelter receives the proper medical care, immunizations, and spaying or neutering before adoption.

There are no same-day adoptions at the Exeter Animal Shelter. There is a charge associated with adoption, but it's worth it for a lifetime of happiness.

Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue was founded in 2017 to provide stray cats with a secure place to remain until they could be adopted into loving homes rather than being released back to the hardships of outdoor life after being accepted into Trap- Neuter- Release (TNR) programs and found to be tame or tamable.

In order to meet an unmet need among Rhode Island's companion animal population, PAAWS RI was established in December 2011. We are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that does not receive financing from the federal, state, or city.
