Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue

In order to meet an unmet need among Rhode Island's companion animal population, PAAWS RI was established in December 2011. We are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that does not receive financing from the federal, state, or city.

Thank you for visiting Operation Pawsibility Project Dog Rescue, or simply OPP. We are a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue organization situated in Rhode Island.

A 501 (c) 3 non-profit group called Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter provides assistance to the animals kept there. Since we are volunteers, all money raised through fundraisers and contributions is used to rescue animals.

As a nonprofit shelter, we are dedicated to saving, providing for, and placing companion animals in loving homes. We shall continue to work towards creating humane communities and support the important morals of kindness, respect, and responsibility for animals.

The West Warwick Animal Shelter is who we are. Animals in need of new homes are housed and adopted out by us.

Animal Control Officer Lori Rivard established West Warwick Angels Caring for Animals Inc. in 2008. It was created to cover the costs of any medical operations for animals at the West Warwick Animal Shelter that weren't spay/neuter surgeries.
