Dogs of all sizes can run and play in the big, grassy off-leash area at Morley Field Dog Park, which is located at the west end of the Morley Field Sports Complex in San Diego, CA. Small trees give some shade, and bag dispensers may be located throughout the park. Dogs can enjoy a leashed walk on the neighboring Florida Canyon Nature Trails after some off-leash fun.

Dogs are welcome at Monta de Oro State Park, which features breathtaking cliffs, beaches, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hills. Petzooie is welcome to join you at pet-friendly picnic places, campgrounds, and park roads, but not on the beaches or trails. Spooner's Cove beach, where Islay Creek empties into the Pacific Ocean, is the only beach that allows dogs.

Non-service animals are not permitted to ride the MUNI during the hours of 5-9 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. on weekdays. Each railway car is allowed one crated or muzzled/leashed dog during approved hours. The non-service pet must be charged the same amount as the passenger.

Piedra Blanca Trail is a 2.5-mile easy hike in the Los Padres National Forest that will take Petzooie about 2 hours to accomplish. This trail begins by crossing Sespe Creek, a National Wild and Scenic River, and continues through the natural beauty of the area. There are gorges along the creek, as well as the endangered California condor. A stunning fall hike is made possible by the changing colors of the trees. Because some portions of the trail are covered with thorny bushes, it's a good idea to wear pants.

The asphalt trails at Bolsa Chica State Beach are dog-friendly. On hot days, this popular beach area brings a large number of visitors to the sea, however dogs must remain on the pathways because they are not permitted on the sand.
