The Hollydale Regional Park's South Gate Dog Park is located in the park's southwest corner. Dogs are allowed to play off-leash inside the dog park, but must be leashed outside of it. A maximum of three dogs are allowed per adult handler. From dawn to dusk, the park is open.

Morgan Trail is an 8.4-mile out and back hike in Cleveland National Forest that takes about 4-6 hours with Petzooie. This trail provides a nice sense of privacy while remaining accessible. Because it is not on Highway 74, it is less congested.

Fred Hesse Junior Community Park is one of the city's most popular parks, with well-kept grounds and an active community center. Baseball and soccer fields, many picnic spots with barbecues, playground equipment appropriate for newborns to adolescents, and a well-used quarter-mile walking trail are among the amenities available to the public in the upper park area. A beach volleyball court, picnic spots (no barbecues allowed), leisurely strolling routes, and comfortable locations for enjoying panoramic views of Catalina Island north to Malibu are all available at the lower park site. Dogs must be on a leash in this park, as they must in other parks. Bags for dog waste are provided.

Shore Dogs Park is a fully enclosed "off-leash" dog park with a double-gated entrance to separate areas for large and small dogs. There are benches, doggie drinking water, and doggie waste bags and dispensers accessible. Shore Dogs is open to the public from dawn to dusk. During the wet season, however, the Park and Recreation Department and the Shore Dogs Board reserve the right to close the park at any time without notice.
Shore Dogs is located near the end of Radio Road in Redwood Shores, California, near a corner of San Francisco Bay, where you may observe the shore birds during the spring and fall migration seasons.
