Dog Park Locations

Bring Petzooie for a hike between Rustic Canyon and Sullivan Canyon along the Sullivan Ridge Trail. If you want to go all the way to the end and back, this out-and-back journey can be as long as 12.6 miles round trip.

The Phoenix Shop at Nepenthe welcomes leashed dogs to accompany their owners while they shop for local art, foreign imports, and fine jewelry.

A section of Michael Faklis Park is dedicated to dogs. This park is at Spanos Park West, near the Spanos Park West shopping center, off I-5 and Eight Mile Road. The park is located near the baseball diamond, on the rear side of the main "human" sections. The space is divided into two sections for dogs of various sizes. Small plants can be seen in the area, but there are no giant trees yet. It's welcome with double gates, a dog/human water fountain, and picnic benches. The ground drains nicely, making this a perfect winter park (no mud!) for the wet season.

The San Francisco Bay Trail - Pinole/Hercules Area is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a charity dedicated to building a countrywide network of trails from abandoned rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an underused railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Fido in Pinole! The trailhead for the San Francisco Bay Trail - Pinole/Hercules Area is shown on the map below.

In Los Angeles, Val Surf is a pet-friendly surf, skate, and snowboard shop. If they're salty sea pups, leashed dogs are welcome to assist their owners in selecting their new boards or to explore their own surfboard possibilities.

Bell Marie Winery in Escondido, California, offers a dog-friendly environment in which to taste fantastic wines. You are welcome to bring a picnic or refreshments to enjoy on the grounds.

A dog-friendly trail at Monserate Mountain Preserve in Fallbrook, CA, has a 1.5-mile ascent to the peak for panoramic views of the coast and mountains. Bring plenty of water for yourself and Petzooie. Please keep in mind that it is too hot to bring a dog along in the summer. The trailhead is located near the intersection of Stewart Canyons and Pankey Road, just east of I-15. Many of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy Preserves allow leashed dogs.

While you enjoy a pint of one of Faction Brewing's various beers on tap, your dog is welcome to join you. Faction Brewing, which is located on the former Alameda Naval Base, has over 20 beers on tap that may be enjoyed as tasters, pints, or growlers. You can get some food from the onsite food truck if you get hungry. Bootleg Biscuits are also available from Faction Brewing for your dog to eat. Throughout the year, Faction Brewing hosts a variety of events.

This gorgeous, fenced, off-leash dog park has separate spaces for large and little dogs, as well as a doggy obstacle course, chairs, and drinking water, according to neighbors.

The Basin AH1 Dog Park and Pond is a seasonal dog park with a wading pool for canines to enjoy during the summer months.
