Dog Park Locations

Through great recreational spaces, enriching experiences, and empowering people, the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Department is making the city a better place to live and play.

With 42 acres, Stulsaft Park is the city's largest park. After receiving numerous requests from the public to allow dogs off-leash in the park, the city has decided to only allow off-leash pathways south of the stream. The paths are well defined with signage, and we need your assistance in adhering to the rules for everyone's safety and enjoyment.

Main Street Park, also known as the "triangle green spot next to the old Redwood Roller Rink," was a small, underutilized pocket park in desperate need of redevelopment. The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department was faced with a job when the nearby street and walkways needed to be renovated. Simultaneously, we were looking for a place for dogs to play, as this had been a long-standing community request. Because the amount of additional open space available for a project like this is limited, these two concerns appeared simple to combine into a solution.

Shore Dogs Park is a fully walled off-leash dog park with a double-gated entrance to separate areas for large and small dogs. There are benches, doggie drinking water, and doggie waste bags and dispensers accessible. Shore Dogs is open to the public from dawn to dusk. During the wet season, however, the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department reserves the right to close the park without notice at any time.

Our dog park and off-leash areas are quite popular, and we work closely with dog owners to ensure that the parks are safe and enjoyable places for your pet to exercise.

A puppy paradise can be found on Melendy Drive, on the west side of Heather School. The Heather Dog Exercise Area, also known as the Heather School Dog Park, is located just next to the parking area. Parking is accessible at the Heather School parking lot, where your adventurous canine will find plenty of furry fun just steps away.

Parks & Recreation is lucky to have three volunteer-based fundraising organizations in town that assist them. Scholarships, capital improvement projects, facility renovations, recreational programs, and community events are all supported by their contributions. The Parks & Recreation Foundation has made a $50,000 contribution to the Highlands Park Playground Renovation Project.

The Recreation and Parks Department of the City of Bakersfield maintains seven dog-friendly parks. These parks are distinct in that they provide a leash-free place for dogs and their owners to enjoy.

The Foothills Village is a small community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The City of Sierra Madre, located halfway between Pasadena and Arcadia, is made up of three square miles of tranquil neighborhoods and green space. Sierra Madre's attractive downtown commercial district is at its core, a favorite destination for visitors and the city's approximately 11,000 residents.

In February of 2020, the long-awaited Fletcher Fetch Park broke ground. The grand opening was celebrated on Saturday, October 3 with the support of the community, various gifts, and the city's hard work.
