A historic neighborhood in downtown Oak Harbor has less than an acre of communal park space.

Several old Garry Oak trees can be found in this park. At the fall of 2019, the Oak Harbor Garry Oak Society requested and obtained approval from the City Council to have the Public Works Parks Division delay mowing in Smith Park until mid-July each year. Wildflowers can blossom and die if mowing is postponed.
