At Tolowa Dunes State Park, which encompasses some of the most spectacular scenery on California's northern coast, dogs are welcome on the wave slope up to the high tide mark. The park is open for day usage from sunrise to sunset throughout the year, however the camping is closed till further notice.
433. Stanislaus National Forest
Stanislaus National Forest, once a thriving gold-mining town, is now a dog-friendly natural and scenic retreat. In the developed recreation areas of the Forest, leashed dogs are permitted. Stanislaus has a lot to offer four-legged pals, such as historic landmarks and artifacts from the gold rush, as well as eight hundred miles of rivers and streams, pristine backcountry, glittering lakes, snow-capped mountains, towering forests, canyons, and more. Dogs are not permitted in the bathing areas of the Forest.
434. Mount Baden-Powell Trail
The Mount Baden-Powell Trail, a challenging 9-mile climb in the Angeles National Forest, will take Petzooie roughly 5 hours to accomplish. This climb begins at Dawson Saddle, at an elevation of 7900 feet, and takes you above the smog. You might start from one of a couple of trailheads that will eventually meet up at the ridge.
435. Merced River Trail
Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Merced River Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Midpines! A parking lot with easy access to the Merced River Trail is shown on the map below.

One of Turlock's two dog parks, it contains a fenced-in section for little dogs and a fenced-in area for large dogs, as well as a dog drinking fountain. A big grass field and a play area are shared by this park. However, the surrounding environment is dangerous.

Devil's Slide Trail, which runs along the jagged cliffs of Devil's Slide and the Pacific Ocean, is dog-friendly! Pet waste stations, viewpoints, seats, viewing scopes, explanatory signage, bike racks, water fountains, and restrooms are all located along the paved walk. Dogs must be cleaned up after and kept on a leash throughout the hike. On weekends, parking is scarce. The Devil's Slide Trail is open everyday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In the designated off-leash area at the southern end of this popular Davis park, pets are welcome to get some off-leash exercise, but be cautious because the area is not enclosed.
