Stanislaus National Forest
Stanislaus National Forest, once a thriving gold-mining town, is now a dog-friendly natural and scenic retreat. In the developed recreation areas of the Forest, leashed dogs are permitted. Stanislaus has a lot to offer four-legged pals, such as historic landmarks and artifacts from the gold rush, as well as eight hundred miles of rivers and streams, pristine backcountry, glittering lakes, snow-capped mountains, towering forests, canyons, and more. Dogs are not permitted in the bathing areas of the Forest.
