Dog Park Locations

Calabasas Bark Park is a small, walled, off-leash dog park that is popular with locals. It has a doggie drinking fountain, pooper scoopers, and plenty of parking. At any given time, no more than three (3) dogs per person are allowed in the park.

El Segundo Dog Park is a long, thin park with lots of room for your off-leash dog to run around. There are plenty of shade trees and the property is completely fenced. There are separate places for tiny and large dogs to exercise in with dogs of similar sizes.

Cowles Mountain Trail at Mission Trails Regional Park is a dog-friendly, moderately easy 3-mile hike that takes around 2 hours to accomplish with Petzooie. Within the city limits of San Diego, Cowles Mountain is the highest peak you can reach. There are plans in the works to expand the area's trail system.

This is a pet-friendly neighborhood. Water bowls can be found around the shopping area, as well as several pet-friendly eateries.

The Bayshore Bikeway (Silver Strand Bikeway) is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a charity dedicated to building a statewide network of trails from abandoned rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an underused railroad track, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in San Diego! The map below shows a parking spot with easy access to the Bayshore Bikeway, which is dog-friendly (Silver Strand Bikeway).

At this gorgeous beach, leashed dogs are invited to join you in watching the surfers.

Dogs must be on a leash. There are numerous miles of excellent hiking paths ranging in difficulty from low to quite steep. Simas Peak offers a spectacular perspective of the Salinas Valley and Monterey Bay after a 2200 foot ascent.

Toro Park is the premier horseback riding, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities destination in Salinas. Over 4756 acres, there are more than 20 kilometers of paths. Toro Park has over 100 geocache locations. It is also a station on the Central Coast Birding Trail and a great site for birding.

Parking is available for free immediately outside the main gate or for a charge per vehicle inside.

Except for the Lost and Razorback Trails, all trails in Windy Hill Open Space Preserve are dog-friendly.

Presidio Park, located on a hill overlooking the city and the bay in San Diego, is a dog-friendly 50-acre park. A lovely place to go for a walk or have a picnic with your leashed pet.
