Animal Shelters

We are a little shelter run by Hernando City. Through spaying/neutering, vaccination, finding suitable homes for stray animals that come into our care, and the enforcement of animal protection legislation, we hope to enhance and safeguard the lives of animals in our city. We defend Hernando residents by upholding local and state regulations pertaining to animals. Making Hernando the most animal-friendly city in northern Mississippi is our main objective.

Our rescued animals at ARF of MS stay as long as is necessary for them to find a forever home. Throughout their stay, we strive to provide for the needs of the entire animal, paying close attention to their total care and medical requirements as well as helping them develop social skills.

We want to make a difference in the terrible overpopulation issue in the south by not only saving animals but also by assisting with public awareness campaigns, neighborhood outreach initiatives, foster networks, and transportation initiatives. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit company. We aren't letting the remodeling of our facility slow us down, though! Thanks to a network of nearby foster families, we are actively preserving animals.

By offering a home, care, adoption options, and foster homes, we hope to change the tragic future of lost, unloved, and abandoned animals. By promoting spay/neuter and educating the people of our county about the kind and compassionate treatment of animals, we encourage responsible pet ownership.

In an effort to offer animals in the city shelter lifesaving adoption services, the Tupelo Lee Humane Society was established in 1979. In an effort to have a greater influence on animal welfare in Lee County and the neighboring areas, TLHS has expanded its lifesaving initiatives and continues to offer adoption alternatives to our community after more than 40 years. The Tupelo Lee Humane Society's goals are to alleviate pet overpopulation, prevent cruelty, promote humane treatment, and give education.

Through humane education, animal protection, and community engagement, it is our objective to offer and promote the humane treatment of animals in Oxford.

Our non-profit organization, the Marshall County Humane Society, is based in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and is made up of a small but devoted and active group of volunteers. Our objectives are to spread awareness of proper pet ownership and to decrease the number of stray animals by encouraging adoptions and spaying and neutering.

East Mississippi Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2001 and is entirely run by volunteers. Its mission is to rescue and rehome abandoned animals in East Mississippi.

When Matthew and Jessica Roberts returned to their hometown of Lucedale, Mississippi and soon started locating abandoned animals, Dixie Adoptables was born. They had been discarded and were now stumbling up the roadside consuming trash. They started taking them in, feeding them, and taking care of their medical issues since they couldn't ignore their pain.
