252. Second Chance for Cats
A 501c3 non-profit group called Second Chance for Cats was founded to spay or neuter homeless cats before finding them homes through adoption, relocation, or release. Our objectives include reducing the number of feral cats in Bluefield, West Virginia, and the surrounding area, as well as providing continuous care for abandoned and homeless cats, such as rabies vaccinations, medical attention, and food.

To strive toward a better future for Pit Bulls by rescuing them from shelters and unhealthy or dangerous environments and placing them in authorized foster homes where they may receive the socialization, vetting, and training necessary to assure successful adoption.

257. Putnam County Animal Relief
Since 1986, Putnam County residents have been receiving services from the Putnam County Animal Shelter in Red House, West Virginia. In the county, the shelter offers temporary lodging and care for stray, unwanted, and owner-rendered animals. They make every effort to place these creatures in long-term, devoted homes.
