Animal Shelters

The Gateway Humane Society is a young but established company. The society was founded more than 30 years ago by a group of men and women. Before realizing their goals of constructing a suitable facility, they took in and cared for animals in their homes.

The Dogs' Den is a 501c non-profit organization with a Central Pennsylvania basis that receives government funding and is committed to enhancing the welfare of animals via adoption and education.

I help the rescue because I want to help the animals and because I can't afford to purchase a horse, this is the next best thing. My name is Wendy DeVine, and I volunteer for the horse portion of the organization.

Senior canines receiving end-of-life care are cared for by the small, Northeast Pennsylvania 501c3 non-profit rescue Mureille's Place. We are a no-kill organization that provides unwanted senior dogs with a safe refuge until they are adopted or, if that is not possible, a place to spend the remainder of their days in peace, dignity, and respect.

Unwanted dogs and cats are cared for and housed at the Hazleton Animal Shelter by a nonprofit group until they are adopted or given back to their owners.

As a no-kill facility, LAPS offers cats shelter, food, company, and medical attention for an extended length of time—sometimes for the whole of their lives. Although expensive, that is our promise.

4 Paws Sake PA educates, reunites, connects, and rescues.  We do this by helping to educate the public by building community awareness and partnering with other animal focused nonprofits that by choosing to work together we can help save more lost, neglected, abused, and forgotten animals.  
 

We rescue animals from shelters that are scheduled for euthanasia as a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization. Animals that have been abandoned or are unwanted are also taken in by us. As a no-kill rescue, we are! All of our animals have been completely vetted, spayed or neutered, and chipped.

Mommy & Me is a no-kill, charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue facility that serves central Pennsylvania. It is licensed by the Pennsylvania state. No matter the cause, we are committed to saving dogs that need homes. We frequently take in stray dogs, puppies from puppy mills, dogs with unique needs who need considerable medical care, and cases of animal abuse.

Our goal is to save dogs in need, rehabilitate them in a loving, caring environment, and place them in a permanent, loving home as soon as we can. Through networking and education, we'll try to encourage a culture of kindness in our neighborhood.
