Dogs are allowed in the park, but they must be kept on a leash that is no longer than six feet long. During the summer season, they are not permitted on the swimming beach (lifeguard area) or on the Spizzle Creek Bird Blind Trail at any time. After going on any of the other paths, it's a good idea to check your dog for ticks. During hot weather, never leave your dog, or any other creature, alone in the car.

Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area

On the Manasquan Inlet, Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area is the last undeveloped land. Fishing, walking on the beach, and sunbathing are all popular activities on the 55-acre estate. Dogs are welcome on the beach's eastern half, but they must be kept on a leash at all times to protect the fragile coastal ecosystem. The beach's western half has been marked as "dog free."

8th Avenue Dog Beach

Pets are welcome at 8th Avenue Dog Beach. Plan an off-leash frolic at Asbury Park's 8th Avenue Dog Beach if your dog was born to run. Jump in the water with your dog for a nice swim after a game of fetch or Frisbee. Between mid-September and mid-May, dogs are always welcome on the beach. If you visit during the summer, go early in the morning or late in the evening, as dogs are not allowed between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The beach is located on the Longport side of the Ocean Drive Bridge, across from the fishing pier. Owners are responsible for bringing their own water and waste disposal equipment.
