Longport Dog Beach

Longport Dog Beach (also known as Somers Point Dog Beach, Malibu Beach, or just Dog Beach) is an off-leash dog beach located near the Malibu Beach Wildlife Management area where dogs of all sizes can enjoy the sand and sea. The beach is located on the Longport side of the Ocean Drive Bridge, across from the fishing pier. Owners are responsible for bringing their own water and waste disposal equipment. Because there are no trash cans on site, be prepared to dispose of all rubbish somewhere.

Wildwood Dog Park and Beach

Pets are welcome at the Wildwood Dog Park and Beach. This dog-friendly beach, formerly known as Poplar Avenue Beach, is a great place to play in the sand and waves. To get to the beach, owners can stroll their dogs under the Maple Avenue boardwalk. There's plenty of room for you and your dog to sunbathe and swim in the pool. On the beach, dogs must be leashed, however the adjoining dog park is leash-free. The only place to get fresh water is inside the park, not on the beach. The beach has no set hours of operation, however the city suggests swimming while a lifeguard is on duty.

Dogs are allowed in the park, but they must be kept on a leash that is no longer than six feet long. During the summer season, they are not permitted on the swimming beach (lifeguard area) or on the Spizzle Creek Bird Blind Trail at any time. After going on any of the other paths, it's a good idea to check your dog for ticks. During hot weather, never leave your dog, or any other creature, alone in the car.

Dogs are welcome on the beach's eastern half, but they must be kept on a leash at all times to protect the fragile coastal ecosystem. The beach's western half has been marked as "dog free."
