Dog Park Locations
1. Chantry Flats Hiking Trails
Pets on leashes are allowed on the trails of Chantry Flats, as well as at the Chantry Flats Picnic Area, which features 35 concrete picnic tables, charcoal grills, and restrooms. Before hitting the trails, make a pit stop at Adams' Pack Station, the last of its kind in the United States, which provides supplies year-round to an 80-cabin permanent community accessible only by footpath. The Pack Station also offers a General Store where you may get your Forest Service Adventure Passes, water, and trail mix before your trek, or come back later for soft drinks, ice cream, or an ice cold beer.
2. Big Horn Mine Trail
Big Horn Mine Walk is a 3.9-mile out-and-back trail with a river that is suitable for hikers of all abilities. The trail is best used from March to October and is mostly used for hiking, running, nature visits, and bird viewing. This trail is also open to dogs, although they must be kept on a leash. This is an unmarked footpath that may be discovered near the closed road below the Mount Baden-Powell/PCT path. All the way to the mine, the trail follows an old mining road.
