Pet Search is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that rescues, cares for, and places unwanted and homeless domestic animals in southwestern Pennsylvania. Pet Search was once known as People for Animal Welfare when it was established in 1987 by animal enthusiasts. In 1996, it changed its name to Pet Search.

A Basset hound rescue organization called Droopy is committed to the welfare of the breed. DBHR is run entirely by volunteers who locate homes for Basset hounds that have been abandoned or given up.

This was how our rescuers lived. These dogs require time to recover from their pasts and rehabilitate. This recovery will be provided by Canine Partners Program, Inc. through specialized rehabilitation obedience training, veterinary care, and healthy nourishment.
