Dog Park Locations

Petzooie will take about 1.5 hours to accomplish an easy 0.6 mile stroll at Nojoqui Falls County Park. The falls that this walk leads to are a lovely hidden gem that few outsiders are aware of. The park itself is well-equipped, with many huge picnic spots, playgrounds, restrooms, barbecues, parking, and other amenities.

The Santa Maria Valley Multi-Purpose Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a charity dedicated to building a nationwide network of trails from abandoned rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Santa Maria!

Pets are welcome at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Bring your dog to one of the last of a long line of redwood parks that stretches up the coast of Northern California. Dogs are not allowed on any of the park's trails, but they are welcome to accompany you on the roads and the beach, as well as the Mill Creek Watershed, logging roads, Walker Road, and Howland Hill Road. Near Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Myrtle Creek Trail and Craig's Creek Trail accept dogs. The park is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the week.

The off-leash dog area at Mountain Lake Park in San Francisco's Richmond district is located in the park's far eastern corner. A popular hangout for dog owners and their canines.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors, supports the Venta Spur Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Irvine! A parking lot with easy access to the Venta Spur Trail is shown on the map below.

Partner Dog Park is a beautiful park with almost two acres of fully enclosed off-leash play area, as well as pine trees, a doggie water fountain, trash bags, and chairs.

Visit the magnificent 200-foot Escondido Falls on this 4-mile out-and-back trek with your dog. The terrain is steep, and there are a few creek crossings where the water can be high at times, so be sure your dog is up to the challenge before starting. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

This open, unfenced field is a lovely spot for your dog to play off-leash while taking in some of the city's best views.

Big Horn Mine Walk is a 3.9-mile out-and-back trail with a river that is suitable for hikers of all abilities. The trail is best used from March to October and is mostly used for hiking, running, nature visits, and bird viewing. This trail is also open to dogs, although they must be kept on a leash. This is an unmarked footpath that may be discovered near the closed road below the Mount Baden-Powell/PCT path. All the way to the mine, the trail follows an old mining road.
