Dog Park Locations

On the east side of Lake Poway, you'll find the Mt. Woodson trailhead. The hike to the Mt. Woodson Summit begins at the Lake Poway Staging area and climbs 2,000 feet in elevation. This 8-mile round-trip climb takes an average of 3 to 4 hours and is only advised for experienced hikers looking for a challenging workout. Please keep in mind that hiking some popular paths in the heat can be risky.

The Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a countrywide network of trails from abandoned rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an underused railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Fido in Pacific Grove! A parking lot with easy access to the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail is shown on the map below.

At Veterans Park Dog Park, pets are allowed to play off-leash. On-leash dogs are welcome throughout the rest of the 12-acre park. While walking on the park's "Walk of Honor" walkway, which is lined with bricks imprinted with the names of veterans, take in the breathtaking panoramic views to the west.

Belmont Shores is a pet-friendly neighborhood with plenty of water bowls outside for thirsty dogs.

At this lovely 230-acre park with a superb fishing lake, your dog is free to join you off-leash.

OstrichLand USA is a pet-friendly attraction in Solvang, California, and it's a fantastic place to start if you're planning on visiting the quaint Danish-themed town of Solvang, the Chumash Casino, or the Santa Ynez Valley wineries. You and your leashed dog can mingle with 50 ostriches and emus, feed them from a bowl, and see their daily activities. In fact, the ostriches appear in the cult classic film Sideways. Before you go, make sure to check out the gift shop. Ostrich Land is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day of the week.

The Santa Barbara Winery, located in downtown Santa Barbara, is a lovely spot to take your dogs and enjoy some delicious wine. There are wine tastings available.
