Animal Nation is a non-profit, entirely volunteer-run wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center, farm animal rescue and sanctuary, and domestic animal adoption center with locations in Westchester, New York, and Norwalk, Connecticut. Its goal is to end animal cruelty while fostering compassion in all living things.

Cats and dogs who have been surrendered, abandoned, or the victims of abuse can find safety at the North Country Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NCSPCA) in Essex County, New York.

The Warwick Valley Humane Society is committed to enhancing the lives of animals in our neighborhood and beyond by safeguarding all creatures and providing lost and abandoned pets with safe, happy refuge until they may be reunited or adopted.

Finding permanent homes for abandoned dogs and cats is the mission of Social Tees Animal Rescue, a non-profit (501c3) organization in New York City. We are a community-focused, foster-based organization that was established on the tenets of responsible pet ownership and providing a welcoming environment for our staff and volunteers.

Pet Pride helps save the lives of homeless cats in our neighborhood by offering refuge, medical attention, and placement in loving homes.

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons aggressively saves cats and dogs, gives them exemplary care, and offers them a safe haven until they can find loving homes.

The Smithtown Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is a point of entry for all lost, stray, and surrendered animals, primarily for the inhabitants of Smithtown. It is situated at 410 East Main Street. Any stray animal is kept at the shelter for the least required amount of time—three days—while staff members look into potential owners and work to reconnect missing pets with their worried families. Our staff gives the animals care during this period so they can wait for their families with as little discomfort as possible. The animals are then assessed and put on the adoption floor where they might find new homes if the owner cannot be found.

Every day of the week, people from all over New York City visit animal care centers to find resources to help them maintain their pets in homes, find lost pets, and adopt new furry family members.

In Putnam County, New York, there is an animal shelter called the Putnam Humane Society. Marjorie Jenkins established our organization in a modest barn on Nichols Street in the year 1957.

The Humane Society of Westchester, originally known as the New Rochelle Humane Society, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to strengthen the link between people and animals by providing compassionate care for animals in the Westchester County and surrounding areas.
