Evitts Run Park

Between S. and N. Jefferson Memorial Park, located at Mildred and Morrison Streets, is an 11.6-acre park that was constructed in 1949 thanks to a contribution from the late Dr. and Mrs. G. P. Morrison. It has been owned and operated by Jefferson Memorial Park Corporation, a non-profit 501 c3 governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, until recently.

This half-mile of river frontage on the Shenandoah River, just north of the Bloomery Bridge, offers camping and other recreational options. Squirrels, birds, and waterfowl found shelter in the well-shaded, peaceful hammock of greenery. In 2012, a new public boat ramp was built to provide access to the Shenandoah River for fishing. Check out the camp sites, picnic tables, boat ramp, fire pits, and parking access, among other amenities. Camping is only permitted with a permission. Leetown Park is four miles east of the town of Leetown. Since the 1970s, this ten-acre park has been a popular place for softball games. There are lighted softball fields, tennis courts, a playground, picnic pavilion, horse shoe pits, concession stand, and restroom facilities on the park grounds. Sam Michaels Dog Park is a 2-acre grassy place for off-leash play and socialization for dogs of all sizes that opened in 2018. A perimeter walking route and benches are also included in the dog park. On most days, the space is open from dawn to sunset. On Wednesday mornings, the dog park receives weekly maintenance. During the spring, summer, and fall, the dog park opens at noon on Wednesdays. Private events can be held in the park's pavilion, which includes a playground and a veterans memorial.

This beautiful three-and-a-half-acre park is located near Shannondale on Mission Road. The picnic pavilion, which is shaded by oak and maple trees and has restroom and cooking facilities, has hosted family reunions, weddings, receptions, and birthday celebrations. A playground, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball, a baseball diamond, a NEW basketball court, and an old church are also available in this park.
