The Lassen Humane Society (LHS) was established in 1985 by a small group of committed volunteers who took on the challenge of advocating for animals in Lassen County.

By providing refuge, rehabilitation, minimizing pet overpopulation, and helping animals find permanent homes, the Siskiyou Humane Society works to improve the lives of companion animals. Through education and outreach, we encourage responsible pet ownership, animal friendliness, and the improvement of human-animal interactions.

Another Chance Animal Welfare League (ACAWL) is a group that rescues animals, primarily cats and dogs, and places them in loving, permanent homes. It is a no kill organization, thus any animals that are brought into the program remain there until they are adopted or they pass away.
