Dreamy Draw Recreation Area

The Ruth Hamilton Trail is a dog-friendly trail. The Quartz Ridge Trail intersects this famous trail, which is slightly over 3 miles long. At the crossroads, there is a great observation bench. This trail's western segment has a number of switchbacks and is moderately rough. The trail drops and levels off after the hiker reaches the peak. It is moderately popular, despite its small length, and provides spectacular views of the city area and the northern Sonoran mountains. During the spring, wildflowers abound.

On walks up Shaw Butte, hikers are welcome to bring their leashed pets. Shaw Butte is located directly north of North Mountain and is part of the Phoenix Mountain Preserves. A trek to Shaw Butte rewards hikers with spectacular vistas of North Mountain, Piestewa Peak, and Lookout Mountain, as well as stunning views of Phoenix. Hikers have a range of trail options to select from. All hiking trails in Phoenix are subject to leash rules, and pets must be leashed at all times.

On a hike up North Mountain, leashed dogs are welcome to accompany their owners. North Mountain is a part of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve and is one of the more easily accessible mountains. Choose from a peak ascent or a variety of trails ranging in difficulty. Hikers can get a good glimpse of the Phoenix skyline. The trail varies in difficulty from a pleasant paved road to rocky, somewhat steep climbs. On the hiking trails in Phoenix, leash rules apply, and pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Make sure you have plenty of water for yourself and Petzooie.

Biltmore Fashion Park, a shopping mall near Phoenix, is a great place to walk around with your dog! While you eat at one of the outdoor restaurants, shop, and have fun with your dog, take use of the many amenities available at the center.

Bring Petzooie to the Saturday Farmers' Market at RoadRunner Park to buy locally grown produce, baked goods, honey, jams and jellies, nursery stock, natural pork, beef, and seafood, as well as handcrafted crafts. Dogs that are well-behaved and on a leash are welcome.
