Northampton Dog Park

The Northampton Community Garden is located on 7 acres near the eastern end of Burts Pit Road, next to the Village Hill development on the grounds of the former State Hospital, and just off Route 66.

Northampton's unofficial dog park is Smith Vocational Agricultural Fields. Local dogs and their owners are frequently seen strolling through the footpaths and meadows of this hidden gem. Owners of dogs are reminded to clean up any mess left behind and to keep their dogs under control.

Hiking trails, a 1912 sandstone observation tower, and seats may be found in this 117-acre woodland park.

Welcome to Groton's trail system, which you are invited to explore. Groton includes more than ten square miles of conserved property and more than a hundred miles of maintained paths. Lakes, eskers, oxbows, drumlins, kettle holes, rivers, streams, vernal pools, fields, hills, working farms, swimming holes, a historic barn, beaver dams, kinetic art, bike trails, and, of course, wildlife can all be found here.

The Town of Thompson's Field purchased 57 acres in 1984, which is now known as the Thompson's Field Conservation Area. Groundwater running toward the adjacent public wellfield was mostly protected by the mosaic of woodlands and farmland.
