Quartz Lake State Recreation Area is ten miles north of Delta Junction, accessible via a three-mile route off the Richardson Highway at mile 277.8.

Harding Lake State Recreation Area, 45 miles south of Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway, was founded in 1967 and is one of the oldest park facilities in the Alaska State Park system.
