Bidwell Park

DeGarmo Park, located in northwest Chico, is CARD's newest community park. The construction of this 36-acre community park is being done in stages. The amenities are included in the first two phases, which are now complete.

Our four-legged companions now have a place to play at CARD. Come out and enjoy a run in the park with your dog. Before your first visit, please go through the dog park guidelines.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Paradise Memorial Trailway, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to stroll Petzooie in Paradise! A parking lot with easy access to the Paradise Memorial Trailway is shown on the map below.

This fenced off-leash area, located in Moore Road Park, has distinct portions for large and small dogs, as well as benches and shade trees.

This day-use park on the Sacramento River welcomes leashed dogs. Trails, picnic spaces with fire pits, and bathrooms abound.

Western Gateway Park welcomes pets. It spans 88 lovely acres, with plenty of off-leash walking routes for dogs, open green space, and a year-round creek. Throughout the park, there are doggie bag dispensers and garbage cans. It also has a 2-acre dog park where dogs can play off-leash safely. It's completely gated, with water in each of the four exercise and training yards, seats, shade, an oak grove, and plenty of amenities for everyone, including an on-site restroom and plenty of parking. The entire facility is ADA compliant and easily accessible.
