For the 300 miles between Memphis and Vicksburg, Helena is the only city on the Mississippi River. A 60-foot boat ramp, one of the largest public access ramps on the lower Mississippi, is located at River Park. Visitors can stroll right up to the river's edge on a boardwalk with informative panels explaining the local ecosystem and Civil War history.

82. Marks' Mills Battleground State Park

Mark Mills Battleground State Park is one of three Arkansas state parks dedicated to the three Civil War battles that took place in the state. You and Petzooie are welcome to walk around the historic site, but please keep your dog on a leash at all times.

The Cossatot River State Park & Natural Area is known for its rafting, but it also has paths and interpretive programs that you and your dog can enjoy. Simply keep Petzooie leashed at all times. Along the National Wild and Scenic Cossatot River, this park-natural area stretches for 12 km. Hikers can choose from four picturesque pathways totaling over 20 miles in length.

Shaw Family Park welcomes pets. Two playgrounds, tennis courts, a splash pad, a workout center, and a new dog park are all part of Springdale's enormous 120-acre park. With A-frames, podiums, bridges, and other exciting agility equipment, the spacious fenced area has been meticulously constructed to keep Petzooie delighted for hours. Shaw Family Park is open from dawn to dusk every day of the week.

Iron Skillet, Dunkin Donuts, and a Travel Store are all open 24 hours a day. This facility features a special area set aside for pets in need of exercise or a rest. For quick cleanup, waste bags and garbage receptacles are also supplied. Pet care products are also available at TA and Petro Travel Stores.

This gorgeous, well-maintained park in the Boston Mountain Valley of the Ozarks offers camping, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and mountain biking along the shores of Lake Fort Smith. It is the western terminus of the 240-mile Ozark Highlands Trail for trekkers. At Lake Fort Smith State Park, you and your dog may go hiking, fishing, kayaking, and more. Just make sure Petzooie is always on a leash.

Mammoth Spring is a National Natural Landmark and one of the world's largest springs, with nine million gallons of water pouring every hour. It produces a 10-acre lake before flowing south as the Spring River, a popular trout and float stream in the Ozarks. The history of Mammoth Spring includes the ruins of a mill and a hydropower station. A playground, picnic area, baseball field, walking route, Arkansas Welcome Center, and gift store are also available. At all times, dogs must be leashed.
