Lake Fort Smith State Park

You and Petzooie can spend a day or more exploring caverns, bluffs, and forests along miles and miles of trails in this lovely park tucked in the Ozark Mountains. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Love's Travel Stop is a dog-friendly gas station and rest stop near Alma, Arkansas. Love's Travel Stops are located all throughout the United States and provide facilities for traveling dogs. A completely fenced dog park with a convenient waste station is available at this site.

The Spy Rock Loop Trail in Redding is pet-friendly. The Ozark Highlands Trail's 8.8-mile Redding Spy Rock Loop Trail has multiple waterfalls and a view from the summit of the surrounding Ozark Mountains. Dogs must be on a leash.

A clean, off-leash dog park with both sunny and shady areas to play is available at Lake Wilson Park. The park has a total area of 320 acres, with 28 acres of water. Boating, fishing, wildlife watching, picnics, and hiking are all available to park visitors. With views of the lake and historic rock formations, the nature route winds almost entirely through the woods. In the spring, there are also a lot of lovely wildflowers!

A walking tour of the battleground or a driving tour of the park, as well as many other opportunities to appreciate nature's grandeur, are available to you and Petzooie. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

The Ozark Highlands Trail (OHT) is one of the country's best long-distance hiking trails. It is well-known for its winter trekking chances when many other paths are impassable. It is located in the midst of the South. The best time to visit this trail is from the fall until the spring. The OHT, which has been featured in National Geographic Magazine, The Guardian, and Backpacker Magazine, offers 270 miles of hiking and trekking across some of the region's most difficult and spectacular terrain. The trail is marked with 2′′x6′′ white markers that are attached to a tree about eye level and positioned vertically. A 12′′ piece of carsonite post angled horizontally and affixed to a tree near eye level and facing the trail serves as a mile marker. The map locations can be found on the webpage.
