Our non-profit, all-volunteer organization's goal is to improve the standard of living for all dogs and cats in the areas we serve.

As a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal shelter and rescue, we do not kill animals. In order to save stray, neglected, and abused animals, POA was established in 1975.

In Kensington, Connecticut, there is a non-profit cat rescue group called Hidden Treasures Adoption Center (HTAC).
