As a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal shelter and rescue, we do not kill animals. In order to save stray, neglected, and abused animals, POA was established in 1975.

Our non-profit, all-volunteer organization's goal is to improve the standard of living for all dogs and cats in the areas we serve.

Dog Star Rescue, situated in Bloomfield, Connecticut, is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on volunteers to rehome dogs of various kinds and ages who have been surrendered by their owners or found stray or abandoned.
