The Humane Society of Westchester, originally known as the New Rochelle Humane Society, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to strengthen the link between people and animals by providing compassionate care for animals in the Westchester County and surrounding areas.

At 600 Garden Avenue, the City of Mount Vernon, New York, runs an animal care and control facility. Here, all abandoned and stray animals in the city limits are housed.

In Westchester County, New York, oys Cats Rescue is a family-run nonprofit that saves cats and kittens and offers them refuge and medical attention until we can find them a forever home.
