Joys Cats Rescue

At 600 Garden Avenue, the City of Mount Vernon, New York, runs an animal care and control facility. Here, all abandoned and stray animals in the city limits are housed.

The Humane Society of Westchester, originally known as the New Rochelle Humane Society, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to strengthen the link between people and animals by providing compassionate care for animals in the Westchester County and surrounding areas.

Every day of the week, people from all over New York City visit animal care centers to find resources to help them maintain their pets in homes, find lost pets, and adopt new furry family members.

Our goal is to rescue homeless, neglected, or abandoned dogs and cats and place them in loving, accountable homes.
