Residents in the county have access to the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter. Please bring your dog or cat to the shelter during the mentioned public business hours if you no longer want it.

The Florence Area Humane Society recruits volunteers for daily assistance, foster homes, food and treats, kennels, and a variety of other services, while the City of Florence owns and manages the shelter.
